We don’t just apply coatings: We read the direction of wear. We analyze flow patterns. We identify where and why the die has deteriorated. As a result, the surface is restored, flow performance improves, and product quality is regained.
The biggest mistake in extrusion dies is the “as long as it’s shiny” mindset. At Micron: Polishing is carried out in a controlled manner. Hard chrome coating thickness is applied deliberately. Die dimensions are carefully preserved. As a result, dimensions remain stable, tolerances are maintained, and die life is extended.
Not every chrome plating saves a die. We apply hard chrome not just to coat, but to improve wear resistance, flow quality, and surface stability. This means: A surface that wears more slowly, Reduced material buildup, Longer maintenance intervals.
Dies that have been in service for 20 years often mean: Thinned areas, fatigued steel, and surfaces that have undergone repeated rework. At Micron: We give an honest answer to the question, “How much life does this die have left?” We don’t perform unnecessary work. And if a die truly cannot be saved, we say so openly.
